Welcome!
The beautiful city of South Ogden began as a small farming community known for its open fields, rounded hills, and springs of sparkling, clear water. Since its 1936 incorporation, the City has grown to a population of over 17,500 residents and remains a beautiful place to work and live.
While no one can predict the future, there are tools that can help South Ogden preserve and enhance the quality of life of residents, businesses, employees, and visitors now and for generations to come. One such tool is the City's General Plan. A general plan is an advisory document which outlines a city's vision for the future. As South Ogden has grown and changed over recent years, the City's current General Plan has become out-of-date and no longer provides a clear path forward. |
The updated General Plan will establish a vision for the city which balances current and future needs and desires while recognizing the significant work and effort that has been expended in the development of form-based codes, new park and recreation amenities, and on-going housing and development projects.
Efforts will focus on merging creative approaches for meeting future economic development and housing needs within a largely built-out community. The public is encouraged to use this site as a way to stay involved, informed, and to provide feedback throughout the general plan update process. |
